That fight scene is the most problematic of the movie. The homeless guy is the next closest because I wanted a different resolution to his story. I have sympathy for the guy even if he chained up Bella. There is a way to save him if he meets up with one of the vets. Overall, it's rough at times, sweet at times, funny at times, and a touching melodrama in the good sense.

Now let me go comfort my kids and ensure them that our dog isn’t going to be taken away from them, subjected to starvation, wild animals and dog wardens, or hit by a police car. Yes, I cried but I also laughed during this movie. And the cast was a very good set of cast members. If you're a big animal lover like me, you're going to enjoy watching this movie. My 9 year old son couldn't make it past the first 1/3 of the movie he was crying so badly.

Yes, this is the same story told again (Homeward Bound and it's various sequels), however it's a little different.
The storyline is cute, but certainly not the best story out there. There were so much CGI and it looked so obviously CGI that I couldn't stand it. There were really sweet scenes, and none of them were cringey, so I appreciated that. The ladies in the movie with me LOVED the humor in the story, they laughed, they cried, they oohed and ahhed and awwed... The dog that plays the adult version of Bella is named Shelby The Dog and she was a rescue dog.
Everything was wonderful in the movie but having read the book I noticed many things changed or missing from the movie that was in the book. There was no mention of Sylvia, the near drowning incident, Chloe and her cats , Gavin and Taylor's trip to China or Axel's real cause of death. Just thought I'd point these out though still the movie was great.
I believe there are far too many cynics and naysayers in the movie theatres. This was a lovely story, especially if you love dogs, cats, wildlife and human beings. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the characters, portraying our returning Veterans' plight in today's society, and lifestyles of the dog's advocates. People who felt there was a political agenda are seriously clueless.
Captain Mica allows Lucas to keep Bella as he has no jurisdiction. Lucas and Olivia are happy to see Bella again and finally manage to move into a house in Golden, where they allow pitbulls.
